The team
The Indicium team comprises experts in a considerable number of fields, particluarly search engine requirements, object oriented coding, application design, interface design, CSS, HTML, XML, PHP, dHTML, Javascript, Java and C++. We know this doesn't make us sound like very exciting people, but we probably shouldn't write about the kinds of things we get up to at the weekend. Especially Andy.
Our system of work
We have a specific manner in which we approach all projects. There are a number of stages to each project, and we use a computerised project control system to ensure that everything is done efficiently and correctly.
The first stage of your project is the planning stage. We determine what must be done to meet your objectives within the defined budget.
The second stage is our resource gathering stage, where we source any third party products or services that are required to fulfil the project. This includes things such as web hosting, traffic analytics software and so on.
The third stage is project fulfilment, at which point we are undertaking the actual coding, management or consultancy work outlined in the project plan.
The final stage is delivery, where we deploy the results of the third stage of the project.
Why choose a supplier in Scotland
Cost benefits
Our hourly rate is £55 per hour (roughy £400 per day) which is considerably cheaper than most development companies in the south of England (and a bit cheaper than many of our Scottish competitors). Being based in the Central Belt of Scotland keeps our costs down, while giving us access to a highly-skilled and knowledgable workforce, equal to anywhere else in the UK.
Your protection
Cheaper alternatives to a UK-based supplier might be to employ the services of Far-Eastern or Eastern European development companies. While many of these are reasonably skilled, and many are reasonably reliable, you have very little protection when and if they turn out not to be. Choosing a UK-based supplier ensures you are fully protected under UK contract laws.
Almost local
We have many clients in Scotland, but also several further afield, throughout the UK. We are based in Livingston, which is just 20 minutes from Edinburgh Airport. Additionally, when appropriate, our developers can go in-house with you, anywhere in the UK. Unlike some othe companies, we don't keep our boffins locked away in the cupboard!
